Who am I...

Well I told you about my passion, but who am I. I mean why do you care about my opinion? I too was one of the very women I now try to uplift and empower. I have been considered a "big girl" most of my life. As a child hood I always received the compliment "you have a pretty face". You may ask what was wrong with that compliment? Let me ask you, how many pretty, slim girls receive that compliment? To my experience, their usually just called pretty. Their beauty is not limited only to their face. So the compliment also felt like a insult at the same time. This compliment actually made me feel less than. Because of this, I wanted to hide my ugliness (my body) by wearing tent-like unflattering clothing.

I had to learn that I am beautiful. Beauty is objective. So what those people didn't see the complete me as beautiful, I now did. I began to learn to dress for my shape. I learned to accentuate the positive. I learned to pick the best colors for me and my skin tone both when it comes to make up and clothing. I developed a love for clothing and cosmetics to help me show the world the me that I most felt comfortable with. And when I became more comfortable in my skin, people started to see me and I no longer get the compliment of just a pretty face. I realized it wasn't my body that was the problem, but my presentation. If you don't feel like the best you you can be, it shows. You are less confident in all aspects of life. When you love who you are and how you look, you are less focused on self doubt and open to focus on the tasks at hand, be it business or pleasure.

Embrace you beauty. Magnify your beauty. Know and feel you are beautiful and worthy and the world is your oyster. I wish everyone beautiful days ahead.

Why I Blog...

I am here plain and simply because I have an opinion and I'm not afraid to share it. Beauty and empowering women happens to be my passion. Not superficial, vain beauty but a ginuine self love and respect. Sometimes certain insecurities prevent us, especially women, from feeling our best. Feeling beautiful, I mean truly seeing your own beauty, makes you feel more confident. Sometimes we know we have a beatiful heart, but if we don't feel our outward appearance maches our inner beauty, we wither away. Every woman is beautiful. Every woman can be strong sexy and confident, she just has to feel she is. I want every woman to understand how accentuating the positive and minimizing the negative will allow them to see the beauty that has always been there. Everyone thinks the beautiful people have it all. Well I am here to tell you, we are all beautiful therefore we can all have it all.

Fun With The Girls

I gave a group beauty consultation this pass Saturday and it was a whole bunch of fun. It was a smaller group of four. In some ways I like those best. You are able to give your clients more individual attention. Not as much as a one on one consultation, but more so than with a larger group. A group this size is also better than one on one because, let's face it, when there's 3 or more it's a party. Anyway, I digress, lol... It was a great group of girls and and we had a blast. We went over the importance of skin care. Attention: Bad skin shows through make up. If you want a beautiful flawless made up face, you have to start with healthy skin. It's so very important to know your skin type and to utilize the products best suited for your skin. Also you must exfoliate after cleansing twice a week if you want your skin looking it's absolute best. Who needs layers of dead skin on their face, and body for that matter. Do not forget to finish by toning and moisturizing and to repeat this regime twice a day, everyday. Your skin will love you and you now have the foundation for a flawless make up face. We also played with our colors. The ladies learned a lot and discovered some really great products. Once again, my job is done.

Wanna Know what ticks me off?.....

Cake Face. Or as I like to say, Geisha Face. Make up is not meant to cover up (well except for cover up), it's meant to enhance. Yes we want to cover our blemishes and in perfections, but never to the extent of wearing a mask. This becomes even more apparent when the wearer of said make up chooses their desired color rather than their actual color. With this you will either achieve Mask Face (you can see the make up line) or they are going to waist a ton of make up painting their neck and chest. Ladies, ladies, ladies, there are make up tips to hide our flaws (need some, will be happy to help). No need to wear a face that looks as though it could be chiseled off. Be kind to your skin first and foremost. Incorporate a daily regime to pamper and nurture the skin. And when it comes make up, I beg you to choose your true color. Make up should help you look flawless. It should accentuate the positive, and minimize the negative.
